The Last Painting

I was back in the school this week to finish off my last painting from the residency year.  Thanks again to Leith School of Art for the opportunity to work with them. 

I look forward now to moving over the water and the chance to set up a new studio in Northern Ireland.

Week 37 - End of Year Exhibition

I was able to show a few pieces in the LSA End of Year Exhibition along with a slideshow of work I've produced through the year.  I'll be back in the school for a couple of weeks over the summer to finish some things off but for now my focus is on plans for next year.  My family and I plan to move to Northern Ireland where a lower cost of living will allow me more time in the studio.  Watch this space for more information.

Week 36 - Final Week

This was my last official week of the residency.  I should get a couple of weeks to finish things off in the summer but for now the focus for everyone in the school is the end of year show.  Check out the link for details of the exhibition -

Week 34

On Monday and Tuesday this week I helped take down the Alumni show at the Dovecot.  It was a very successful exhibition for the school and for me as an individual.  I sold a couple of works as well as receiving an abundance of compliments.

After taking down the exhibition I had one productive day in the studio continuing to work on  these two paintings.  Both are roughly 2x3ft.

Week 32/33

I've struggled with a virus for the last couple of weeks so I've had to take a few days off and work with less intensity in the studio.

Week 31

The first in a series of small clay figure paintings (roughly A3 size).  It's a relief to drop down in scale after wrestling with big paintings last term.  This piece took me one day compared to several weeks working on my 'Empty Chair' paintings.

Two larger figure and mirror paintings which I'll be working on in tandum over the coming weeks.
